Reflections on Colaborative Writing Experience

İrem, Naz, and I collaborated to write a film review for the Japanese animated movie Your Name, directed by Makoto Shinkai. We were tasked with writing a 400-word review in collaboration, following 'a clear structure' including background, plot summary, technical aspects and overall evaluation. A common Google Docs page was created and we used it to brainstorm ideas, share tasks, and edit each other's contributions.

We gained a lot from collaborative writing. Most importantly it gave us the chance to see some error we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Feedback have actually lifted some weights on our shoulder because we did not have to try to make it perfect by ourselves. We have just wrote it and improved it to our standards by givin each other feedback. Every one of us was gifted with a unique skill set, whether it was plot analysis or technical aspects like music and cinematography. The diversity in our final assessment contributed to a more comprehensive and balanced evaluation.

Google Docs enabled us to collaborate with ease and efficiency. Our online interactions allowed us to comment on other people's paragraph, suggest rewordings, and even edit each other in real-time. We were able to keep track of all our work in one place, without having to worry about any updates or versions. I personally found this approach to be more inspiring than working alone. Real-time progress from my friends motivated me to stay focused and contribute more..

Overall, this assignment helped us develop our teamwork and writing proficiency. It is highly recommended for students to collaborate in their writing. I concur. This is productive, insightful, and a little bit of humour!
